Job Seekers Guide

I’m of the firm belief that the majority of people with disability are capable of and willing to participate in award-wage work alongside everybody else. My own organisation’s statistics prove this.

Sadly, not every person with disability has access to the best employment service in Australia. For you, I have created a free, downloadable guide to finding a great disability employment service.

The guide helps job seekers decide whether an employment service is likely to assist them getting work, through asking the service a series of ten questions, such as:

  • How do you assess me? (To learn more about assessment options, please read this blog.)
  • Will you aim high on my behalf? (Read about why ‘aiming high’ is important here.)
  • Do you need subsidies to get people jobs? (A good disability employment service should not need subsidies to find people work. Read about this here.)

At the end of the guide, there’s a scoring system. If this score is too low, find another employment service and ask them the questions. With luck, you’ll find a service that will meet your needs.

All the best with your job seeking,

Martin Wren.
